Locking the Eezytrace tablet
Eezytrace tablets come locked by default, in a secure mode that limits their use to the Eezytrace application and, in some cases, to other authorized applications such as Wifi Center. This locked mode ensures that the tablet is only used for the defined business needs, avoiding any unwanted manipulation or installation.
🎯 What does "locked mode" mean?
In locked mode, the user sees only:
-
The Eezytrace app (main access).
-
The Wifi Center app (for network connection).
-
Other pre-authorized apps (if configured by Eezytrace support).
All other Android features are hidden to ensure a stable, simple, and distraction-free environment.
🔓 How do I temporarily unlock the tablet?
In some cases (changing settings, switching Wi-Fi networks, adjusting the screen, etc.), you may need to unlock the tablet.
Here’s how:
-
Tap the tablet screen several times (usually 5).
-
A dialog box will appear: enter the administrator password provided by Eezytrace support.
-
You will then access a menu called Administrator Settings.
In this menu, you can:
-
Tap System Settings to access standard Android settings (network, date/time, display, etc.).
-
Or, to exit locked mode completely, tap Exit SureLock at the very bottom of the list.
⚠️ Important: Once the tablet is unlocked, it remains in unlocked mode. The user cannot relock it themselves.
🔁 How do I relock the tablet?
Only Eezytrace support can remotely relock the tablet.
It is therefore recommended to contact support once changes are complete, to prevent the tablet from remaining open to unauthorized use.
🔐 Security reminder: Even though the user can temporarily unlock the tablet with a password, they should never leave it in unlocked mode for an extended period. This exposes the device to unintended uses (downloading apps, disabling services, etc.).
❓ Need help?
Feel free to contact Eezytrace support to obtain:
-
The unlock password,
-
Remote assistance to make adjustments,
-
Or to lock the tablet after you’ve made changes.
